Welding

WelderTempro Tec provides high quality welding curtains, welding blankets and welding pads (commonly called fire blankets) for hot work protection applications in Western Canada.

Thermal Insulation Standard for Fire Prevention During Welding, Cutting, and Other Hot Work NFPA 51B (2009) now requires that welding blankets, curtains and pads be listed, approved or the equivalent for such use. One such listing includes ANSI/FM 4950. Many end users are now requiring adherence to the 2009 NFPA 51B Standard, thereby making hot work safer. The NFPA 51B Standard is most often cited by both U.S. government agencies (OSHA, DOE) and private industry groups (API, AWS) for fire protection. For a copy of the standard, go to www.nfpa.org.

Independently Certified Fire Safety Protection

In the interest of personnel safety, Tempro Tec offers a full line of ANSI/FM4950 Approved Welding Pads, Blankets and Curtains. ANSI/FM4950 is the most comprehensive certification program for fabrics used in hot works operations. Recently ANSI/FM 4950 became recognized by the Standards Council of Canada as an "Other Recognized Document" (ORD). In addition, NFPA 51B now requires welding blankets, welding curtains and welding pads for hot work operations be "listed or approved." Welding curtains, welding blankets and welding pads that meet the ANSI/FM4950 Standard meet the requirements of NFPA 51B - 2009.
