Gasketing Ropes

Fire Blankets

Tempro Tec offers five different types of fiberglass or ceramic gasketing ropes ideal for use in many high heat equipment applications.

LD 1.9 Braided Door Gasket

Tempro Tec's LD braided door gasket will not burn, smolder, shrink, rot or mildew. Made from E-Glass, it can withstand short-term temperatures up to 1500°F, has high dielectric strength, maintains high tensile strength at elevated temperatures, and is highly resistant to most chemicals.

Ceramic Fiber Ropes

Tempro Tec's ceramic fiber ropes can be used in continuous operating temperatures of up to 2300°F. In addition, ceramic ropes have excellent chemical stability, strong resistance to thermal shock and corrosive attack (exceptions are hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids and concentrated alkalis). Tempro Tec's ceramic fiber ropes resist oxidation and reduction; if wet by water or steam, thermal properties are completely restored upon drying.

Temperature Resistance
(Continuous)
  • 2300°F
Content
  • Alumina-Silica Ceramic Fiber (free of asbestos)
3-ply Round Low Density
(Twisted)
  • Produced by twisting ceramic fiber wicking
  • Soft and Economical
9-ply Round High Density
(Twisted)
  • Increased compression resistance and strength
  • about 50% denser than 3-ply twisted ceramic fiber rope
Round and Square Braided
(High Density)
  • Ceramic fiber braided
  • Maximum resistance to mechanical abuse
  • Highest density
  • Superior strength
  • Minimal unraveling when cut
